Getting Ready For The Balmain ArmyLeave a Comment
On the way to New York I got the news that Olivier Rousteing wanted to style me for the event. This was a great honour and amazing to be one of the first to wear the collection. I styled the satin jacket with the golden buttons together with a pair of jeans to tone it down a bit and make it more me! The show was overwhelming, striking the perfect 90s vibe with a surprise appearance from none other than that decade’s boy band icons, the Backstreet Boys. The line-up was all supermodels, with Kendall Jenner opening the show and Gigi Hadid closing it – and in between we had Scandinavian star Nadja Bender. At the press conference we met a proud Rousteing, who enjoyed working with the team from H&M. The collection already received massive media attention, which comes as no surprise with the French king of Instagram, with more than 1.5 million followers, leading the collaboration. Olivier is a part of the H&M generation and with this collaboration he has put his mark on the French label, reaching out to a new and wider audience of fashionistas, who perhaps didn’t even see themselves as ever being able to afford a Balmain piece. Now it is a reality, and if you do not know what to get, be advised that Rousteing’s favourite is the double-breasted blazer with beading and velvet!
