How To Style The Tailored SuitLeave a Comment
We first saw the suit, or Le Smoking, from Yves Saint Laurent back in 1966, and powerful ladies like Catherine Deneuve and Bianca Jagger instantly adopted this daring new silhouette. Over the years the suit has been worn by it-girls such as Angelina Jolie and Alexa Chung. This season our attention is redrawn to this tailored outfit, an important wardrobe staple with a masculine look.
The tailored suit is classic, but if you choose to go for the cropped jacket it will give you a more interesting look and more defined waist. Think Saint Laurent and go for a broderi anglaise shirt with a tie around your neck, which will spice up the outfit. You can also apply a more casual feel to the tailored suit by wearing a turtleneck and a pair of boots; think of this as more rock ’n roll, which is something we will see much more of next season.
