    Isabel Marant Fall 15

The cardigan is once again a fashionable wardrobe staple, spotted being worn by the fashion crowd while “off-duty” during season, but it is not too late to get your hands on this multifunctional wardrobe item. Whether the cardigan is oversized with that slouchy feel that we remember from the 90s, or it’s more like a top, perfect for a high-waisted skirt from the 50s, the cardigan can be styled in many ways. Here are some tips on how to perfect your cardigan look.

    • The oversized cardigan with deep V-neck is cool when layered. Wear it with jeans and a tee for a casual weekend look. Or wear it with a belt to give your look a more defined waist.
    • Wear the cardigan in reverse, with the back in front, like a blouse with a deep backdrop.
    • Wear the cardigan over your shoulder for a preppy-chic look. We’ve seen it with jackets and blazers, but for a lighter feel use the cardigan instead. It’s a super-classic look.
    • Get that instant off-duty coolness and wear your cashmeres tied around your waist.
    • Do as Pernille and wear the cardigan to add some colour to your look either wearing a feminie look with shirt and skirt or in an everyday outfit with blue jeans and a turtleneck.

  2. How To Style The Tailored Suit

    Hugo Boss AW15

We first saw the suit, or Le Smoking, from Yves Saint Laurent back in 1966, and powerful ladies like Catherine Deneuve and Bianca Jagger instantly adopted this daring new silhouette. Over the years the suit has been worn by it-girls such as Angelina Jolie and Alexa Chung. This season our attention is redrawn to this tailored outfit, an important wardrobe staple with a masculine look.

The tailored suit is classic, but if you choose to go for the cropped jacket it will give you a more interesting look and more defined waist. Think Saint Laurent and go for a broderi anglaise shirt with a tie around your neck, which will spice up the outfit. You can also apply a more casual feel to the tailored suit by wearing a turtleneck and a pair of boots; think of this as more rock ’n roll, which is something we will see much more of next season.

& Other Stories AW15 The 90s’ are having yet another moment. And we’re certain our nostalgia for the decade is going nowhere fast. The slip dress has probably been on your to-buy list ever since the runways showed that this season marks a 90s throwback – and the tipping point might have been Chloé’s take on this spaghetti-strap dress. Wear it alone, or layered under an oversized sweater with a pair of sneakers, and the elegance will be effortless. Or, exude easy glamour with sling-back heels. A single black (or any colour) slip-dress is all you need to channel 90s-era Julia, Winona and Gwyneth – and do like Elle Fanning and recreate that look today. You clearly don’t want to let this trend slip away.

The pencil skirt is a popular piece that is perfect for all styles, for every season of the year, and for every occasion. It is arguably one of the most versatile and timeless items in any woman’s closet, and many would claim that this piece should be a mandatory part of any wardrobe, because it flatters almost everyone.

It may have started as an office essential, but that doesn’t mean that this knee-length skirt is all business. Whether you prefer it in a denim, tight, or printed version, this fitted silhouette offers much in the way of versatility. This striped one was an eye-catcher at New York Fashion Week, styled in a layered look with a zipped-up shirt, and a knit on top, golden pumps at the bottom, and given some extra spice with the Chanel bag… the perfect Fashion Week look. You can easily translate this look into an everyday essential and style the skirt with a chunky knit, a soft leather jacket, and a pair of kicks.

The one-piece is certainly a trend with staying power. But even with all the benefits that the onsie brings to the sartorial table, many are left confused about how to style it.
