My style is pretty minimalistic, monochrome and inspired by menswear. I’m really comfortable with my style, maybe too comfortable. I often wish I could bend it a bit and wear a crazy colour or a beautiful print, but it rarely happens. When it does, it doesn’t feel right and the next day you’ll see me wearing black on black on black. My style is also very Danish! I wear a lot of Danish brands which is obviously a result of my job.
3 WARDROBE ESSENTIALS
At the moment it’s loafers, loose fit jeans and polo shirts.
WHAT IS A TYPICAL OUTFIT FOR YOU?
My two favourites are a pair of jeans and a shirt. At the moment, I prefer the jeans to be boyish or loose fit, but you’ll also see me wearing wide-legged or skinny jeans depending on the rest of my outfit. The shirts I wear are mostly inspired by menswear. However, I’ll usually pair this with something a bit more feminine to soften the look – gold jewellery, a pair of oversized shades, a shoulder bag or maybe even heels (although I prefer to wear flats).
ONE THING THAT WILL STAY IN YOUR WARDROBE FOREVER?
The Valentinos I’m about to buy (see picture).
BEST STYLE TIP?
Go to lookdepernille.com frequently, and you’ll find it eventually.
WHO INSPIRES YOU?
I’m especially fascinated by women who challenge the gender stereotypes in fashion and dare to go completely androgynous – this can be anyone from Patti Smith or Diane Keaton to Tilda Swinton. The ones who prove that looking sexy doesn’t necessarily mean high heels or plunging necklines.
ON TOP OF YOUR WISH LIST?
